Early Years Foundation Stage
The teachers, governors and parents of the school consider Nursery education to be extremely important. There is a maintained Nursery within our school as part of our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). It is an extremely popular and successful Nursery which allows your child plenty of opportunity to prepare for school to make for a seamless transition.
The EYFS aims to provide:
- quality and consistency in all early years settings
- a secure foundation for all children for good progress through school and life
- partnerships between different practitioners
- partnerships between parents or carers and practitioners
- equality of opportunity for all children
The curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage, with contains seven areas of learning:
- Communication and language
- Physical
- Personal, social and emotional
- Literacy development
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
